James Sunderland was a normal man leading a normal life with his wife, that is, until she came down with a bizarre illness. For two years, James' wife, Mary, lay in her sickbed until she finally died. James was devastated. Two years later, James receives a letter from his dead wife beckoning him to return to their 'special place' where she is waiting for him. The letter was definitely her handwriting, but how was this possible? Is Mary still alive?

James knows that their 'special place' is the town of Silent Hill. But where exactly is Mary? The entire town was their 'special place.' With both fear that the letter is a hoax, but hope that it is true, James embarks on a journey to Silent Hill. Sadly, what James doesn't remember, and what he doesn't want to remember is about to launch him into the Hell that is Silent Hill. Wounds may heal, but your mind will be scarred forever.
